Marshall’s walk ended quietly last weekend, and now we will be focusing on other ways to bring troops home from Iraq. This week, however, our attention will be on our daughter, Eliza. She will be going in for surgery to have the lumps (there are now four) removed from her neck. We both feel very hopeful about this surgery and we think she will recover just fine. If nothing else, we will feel some relief in knowing exactly what is causing the lumps so that we can do something about it.

Again, I want to thank everyone for your prayers and words of comfort, both for Marshall’s walk and for Eliza. Marshall and I are so grateful that he can stay home for a while and finally get to know his daughter. It will be fun to have him home for the holidays this year, because he was stuck in Iraq for her first Christmas last year. As we celebrate the holidays, however, we will both be mindful of the servicemembers still fighting Iraq. Hopefully we’ll see some changes soon.

Once Eliza recovers from her surgery, and I finish school, Marshall and I will be working on the documentary full-time. We ask anyone with home videos of peace rallies, support-the-war rallies, elections/campaigns, peace club activities, or anything else dealing with the peace movement or with the Iraq war, to e-mail us at info@soldierspeace.com. Hopefully, we will be able to capture the peace movement and illustrate its effectiveness.

Thanks again for all the support and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
